Volkswagen Recalls A Recall June 2, 2006 VW is recalling 362,000 Jettas, pictured, and New Beetles from 1998 to 2002. Ouch! It's already a bad thing when an automaker recalls hundreds of thousands of cars — it's quite worse to recall these cars again due to poor recall work previously done. But this is what Volkswagen is doing, recalling 362,000 cars in the United States for a brake-light switch that may malfunction. The brake lights could stop working or remain lit if installed improperly during a previous recall and potentially lead to a crash.
