Passat Wins Big Award In Europe March 3, 2006  Forty-million people can't be wrong. This is how many Europeans took part in the Auto1 award, voting the Volkswagen Passat number one. Forty-million readers of 24 European magazines narrowed a list to 13 models, with 40 automotive editors and experts making the final pick. This is the second Auto1 win for the Passat. The first was in 1997. News of the award is sure to bolster sales of the Passat, which already enjoys a commanding 26-percent share of Germany's mid-size market.
